United States Supreme Court Upholds Order to Release 40,000 Prisoners Due to Overcrowding in California Prisons
On May 23, 2011, the United States Supreme Court in Brown v. Plata upheld a court order requiring California to release up to 46,000 prisoners to relieve serious overcrowding in the state’s prisons and remedy grossly inadequate medical and mental health care.
In what may be the most significant prisoner’s rights case in years, the Court found that the medical and mental health care provided by California’s prisons violates the Eighth Amendment’s prohibition against cruel and unusual punishment.
At oral argument in November, Justice Breyer described prison conditions as “horrendous,” citing evidence of prisoners “found hanged to death in holding tanks where observation windows are obscured with smeared feces, and discovered catatonic in pools of their own urine after spending nights locked in small cages.”

A panel of federal judges wants to release as many as 57,000 state prisoners. But their ruling has some people uneasy and outraged.
The federal judges tentatively ruled that the state’s prisons are overcrowded and in poor condition. They say the state can cut prison populations by about 30 percent. But opponents say the release could come with a hefty price tag.
The federal ruling says all inmates released would be “low risk,” but many people disagree with that classification.
“Oh hell no. I don’t think they need to be released at all. I think they need serve their time and do their debt to society,” said Kristina Bauer.
Bauer works at the Soledad Prison, one of California’s correctional facilities. She says the panel of federal judges that would allow “low risk” inmates early release has no clue about what that would mean for communities across the state.
“There’s going to be a lot more child molesters out there, drug dealers, all of them are “non-violent…” [They] are going to be out on the streets a lot more,” said Bauer.
“37,000, 47,000, 57,000 – are all too big. And it’s unsafe,” said Matthew Cate, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation secretary.
An attorney for the state’s prisoners says the opposite. At this point, he says the ruling presents the safest option.
“We’re confident that not only can it be reduced safely, but if the governor spends the billion dollars he would save from reducing the prison population into crime prevention programs, it would actually make the community safer than it is now,” said Don Spencer, Prison Law Office director.
The prison guard’s union released a statement to Action News saying, “Since it will be low level inmates, the order will do very little to ease overcrowding of the long term inmates who require the most security and care.”
As far as how it will affect the community directly on the Central Coast, it could lose many of the inmates that work on the California Men’s Colony firefighting crews, as they are classified as “low risk.” And that could cost taxpayers millions of dollars in the long run.
If “low-risk” prisoners are released, it is likely they will go to the county where they last lived. The governor’s office says it will take the matter to the U.S. Supreme Court if the federal judges don’t change their ruling on releasing the inmates.

The First Step Act: Ending Mass Incarceration in Federal Prisons

In 2018, Congress passed and then-President Donald Trump signed into law the bipartisan First Step Act, a sweeping criminal justice reform bill designed to promote rehabilitation, lower recidivism, and reduce excessive sentences in the federal prison system. Lawmakers and advocates across both political parties supported the bill as a necessary step to address some of the punitive excesses of the 1980s and 1990s.1
The First Step Act includes a range of sentencing reforms which made the Fair Sentencing Act of 2010 retroactive,2 enhanced judicial discretion, created earned time credits, increased good time credits, reduced certain mandatory minimum sentences, and expanded the safety valve that allows persons with minor prior convictions to serve less time than previously mandated.

The following information comes from a research source, which has investigated actual UNITED NATIONS preparations, WITHIN THE UNITED STATES, to deal with any resistance to a ‘New World Order’ takeover.

Anybody who is familiar with some of the speeches that have taken place, ex-President Reagan spoke in, England by phone approximately two months ago and commented that the United Nations Forces would be the velvet glove on the street fist. This is a very popular phrase. It has been used extensively by these people who are within the New World Order operation. I don’t know how you feel about this but anytime I’ve been hit with an iron fist, I usually don’t feel too good and a velvet glove doesn’t make much difference. Now if anybody has seen the guidelines – and we have copies of both – the original stated that “house-to-house search and seizures will be performed by military, law enforcement and civilian personnel”. We all know who the military are – that’s anybody in a green uniform or a blue uniform or the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard. We understand that there would be people in the National Guard, reserve and active, our active military forces. We know who law enforcement personnel are; they are the constables, the individuals that you have at your local level all the way up to and including our secret police in the United States, such as the FBI, Central Intelligence Agency and other agencies that might be at their disposal, Defense Intelligence Agency, etc. But who are the civilians that are going to come into your home? I don’t recall there being any guidelines for that in the Constitution.

Pamlico prison plays part in military exercise

BAYBORO, Mar. 20 – For two days in March, Pamlico Correctional Institution found itself behind enemy lines, while fighter jets roared overhead, tanks and missiles stood guard outside the prison and Navy SEALs lurked in the nearby woods.
It was all a part of a joint training exercise involving U.S. Navy and NATO forces. The grounds outside Pamlico were one of many locations across coastal North Carolina utilized during the two-week exercise involving about 26,000 soldiers, sailors and Marines.
To people driving down the road past the prison, things certainly looked strange. Two Soviet-made T-72 tanks, a truck-mounted Scud missile and two SAM-6 surface-to-air missile launchers were visible peeking from the trees. A large antenna and mobile radar site were erected in the field in front of the prison.
The tanks and missiles weren’t real, they were full-scale fiberglass models called targets, equipped with propane heaters to simulate the exhaust heat generated by the engines on the real thing. The targets were the ‘mice’ in an elaborate military cat-and-mouse game designed to exercise the reconnaissance capabilities of the U.S. naval fleet. The ‘friendly forces’ were coordinated from aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Enterprise, underway with her battle group about 300 miles off the Carolina coast.
The ‘enemy forces’ were civilian contractors who moved the targets around Eastern North Carolina, attempting to elude the ‘friendlies.’ “We move from day to day, we run and hide,” said Paul Needham, an electronic warfare specialist from Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Maryland. “It’s fun to be the bad guys, it’s all part of the game.”
Needham operated the radar outside the prison and also transmitted ‘enemy’ radio signals, potential intelligence to be intercepted by the fleet. “When I see the jets coming over, I’ll turn on the radar and ‘light them up’ to simulate a hostile action from an enemy missile site,” he said. “They’ll have to react to that. We try to make it as real as possible.”
From offshore, the fleet was conducting its reconnaissance on three levels, trying to locate the targets and determine the strength and position of the ‘enemy’ forces. Satellites in orbit passed hundreds of miles overhead using infrared cameras to penetrate the heavy cloud cover and detect the heat given off by objects below. In the air, Harrier jets made frequent passes over the prison, circling and taking photographs. Navy SEALs parachuted into the nearby countryside and moved through the woods to conduct close-up surveillance on the ground.
“The commanders told us we wouldn’t even know the SEALs were there,” said Pamlico Superintendent Steve Muller. “But they wanted to know about it if we did spot one of them.” Since the entire operation took place outside the prison’s perimeter fences, it was business as usual for Pamlico’s inmates and staff inside the facility.
“It’s unique for the State of North Carolina and the Department of Correction, to take part in something like this with the Defense Department,” said Muller. “But we’re glad to help in any way we can.”

How is Satan god of this world (2 Corinthians 4:4)?
The phrase “god of this world” (or “god of this age”) indicates that Satan is the major influence on the ideals, opinions, goals, hopes and views of the majority of people. His influence also encompasses the world’s philosophies, education, and commerce. The thoughts, ideas, speculations and false religions of the world are under his control and have sprung from his lies and deceptions.
Satan is also called the “prince of the power of the air” in Ephesians 2:2. He is the “ruler of this world” in John 12:31. These titles and many more signify Satan’s capabilities. To say, for example, that Satan is the “prince of the power of the air” is to signify that in some way he rules over the world and the people in it.
This is not to say that he rules the world completely; God is still sovereign. But it does mean that God, in His infinite wisdom, has allowed Satan to operate in this world within the boundaries God has set for him. When the Bible says Satan has power over the world, we must remember that God has given him domain over unbelievers only. Believers are no longer under the rule of Satan (Colossians 1:13). Unbelievers, on the other hand, are caught “in the snare of the devil” (2 Timothy 2:26), lie in the “power of the evil one” (1 John 5:19), and are in bondage to Satan (Ephesians 2:2).
So, when the Bible says that Satan is the “god of this world,” it is not saying that he has ultimate authority. It is conveying the idea that Satan rules over the unbelieving world in a specific way. In 2 Corinthians 4:4, the unbeliever follows Satan’s agenda: “The god of this world has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ.” Satan’s scheme includes promoting false philosophies in the world—philosophies that blind the unbeliever to the truth of the Gospel. Satan’s philosophies are the fortresses in which people are imprisoned, and they must be set free by Christ.
An example of one such false philosophy is the belief that man can earn God’s favor by a certain act or acts. In almost every false religion, meriting God’s favor or earning eternal life is a predominant theme. Earning salvation by works, however, is contrary to biblical revelation. Man cannot work to earn God’s favor; eternal life is a free gift (see Ephesians 2:8-9). And that free gift is available through Jesus Christ and Him alone (John 3:16; 14:6). You may ask why mankind does not simply receive the free gift of salvation (John 1:12). The answer is that Satan—the god of this world—has tempted mankind to follow his pride instead. Satan sets the agenda, the unbelieving world follows, and mankind continues to be deceived. It is no wonder that Scripture calls Satan a liar (John 8:44).
What does it mean that Satan is prince of the power of the air (Ephesians 2:2)?
“And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience” (Ephesians 2:1–2, emphasis added). In this text the apostle Paul describes Satan first as a “prince” with power, because he has authentic power in the world (1 John 5:19). This power has been given him by God (Luke 4:6). Satan has power over some illnesses (Luke 13:16; see also 2 Corinthians 12:7—it’s unknown if Paul’s “thorn” was an illness or something else). In some sense, Satan has power over death (Hebrew 2:14). The reason Satan is called a prince rather than a king is because there is only one King—Jesus Christ (1 Timothy 6:15).
Satan also has power over some people. The “sons of disobedience” referred to in Ephesians 2:2 are those who have not trusted Christ as Lord and Savior (cf. Acts 26:18; 2 Corinthians 4:4; Revelation 13:12). The demons are also under the rule of Satan (Matthew 12:24), and one of his titles is “prince of demons” (Matthew 9:34). Satan has a kingdom (Matthew 12:26) and a throne (Revelation 2:13). Satan is called a prince because he is a ruler and possesses power to manifest evil in the world through influencing people and commanding demons.
“The air” in Ephesians 2:2 may refer to the invisible realm above the earth where Satan and his demons move and exist. This space, of course, is the location of the earth’s atmosphere or “air.” In Ephesians 6:12, Paul writes, “We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” This evil realm called the “air” could be an actual locality, but it could also be synonymous with the “world” of John 12:31. This whole world is Satan’s domain (Matthew 4:8–9).
Although Satan has power and authority in the current world system in which we exist, his power is limited, always under the sovereign control of God (Job 1:12), and it is temporary (Romans 16:20). God has not revealed all of the why’s and when’s concerning Satan’s rule, but He has made it clear that there is only one way to escape the power of Satan’s dominion, and that is through His Son, Jesus (Acts 26:18; Colossians 1:13–14). It is Jesus who, speaking of the impending cross, declared victory: “Now the prince of this world will be driven out” (John 12:31).

In an online column for the Cable News Network, Andres Martinez — editorial director of Zocalo Public Square and professor of practice at the Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University — and Daniel Kurtz-Phelan — an Eric and Wendy Schmidt Fellow at New America and a former adviser on Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s policy planning staff — argue for a European-style merger between the U.S., Canada and Mexico, though CNN attempted to ridicule former U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, for his previous mention of a North American Union.
As reported by The New American magazine in its online edition, the recent op-ed by Martinez and Kurtz-Phelan, on behalf of New America, a globalist-centric think tank, the future of the U.S. “lies in North America,” not in the Constitution or the American people.

On January 2, 1988, leaders of the United States and Canada met to sign the first major agreement in decades designed to comprehensively lower trade barriers between the two countries. Since the 1850s, American and Canadian politicians had striven to lower or eliminate trade barriers between the two countries, with uneven success; the first such agreement, the Elgin-Marcy Treaty of 1854, was torpedoed by the United States only 12 years later in retaliation for British support of the Confederacy during the Civil War, and successive efforts over the years at eliminating various protectionist policies inevitably fell prey to cries of protectionism or favoritism on one side or the other.
But 1988’s Free Trade Agreement (FTA) would be different, leaders in both countries assured their respective citizenries. This time around, trade barriers would be lowered across the board, and protective tariffs and other barriers become a thing of the past. Moreover, Americans and Canadians received glib assurances that the agreement would in nowise jeopardize the sovereignty or independence of either country.
In one respect, American and Canadian leaders were telling their constituents the truth: This trade agreement was different. The FTA — unlike its various abortive predecessors over the previous 130 years — was intended to be but the first step in a process of economic and political integration that would indeed, over the long run, abolish the independence not only of the United States and Canada, but the rest of North America as well.
Despite its significance, the FTA was passed with little fanfare in the United States, where President Reagan presented it to Congress under a “fast-track” procedure that limited debate and disallowed amendments.

Convicted Felons and The Workplace Are Incompatible
There is a political movement afloat to grant felons the special status that women, minority group members and homosexuals have from employment discrimination.
They want so-called, ex-offenders to be able to enter the workplace despite the despicable acts that gave them the Mark of Cain. We are talking about killers, rapists, robbers and thieves. Imagine having a small business and being forced to hire someone that frightens you and your employees?

The privitization of the military and police are dangerous trends in America. As bad as the US Government can be, there are checks and balances in place to control any one branch or department getting out of hand. Private companies don’t have such checks and balances. When the US Govt outsources critical functions as policing the populace and military functions to private companies, who checks these companies? If I found a company to provide an awesome product, and then donate billions to the NRA, would that make things any different? The company seemingly exists for itself first, for the NRA second. The biggest problem with Afghanistan and the Taleban Government was that it was a theocracy. It appears the Christian Right is heading America down that same path. The easiest way to sidestep the checks and balances is to used private companies with sympathetic leaders.
